We’re a family-run winery, cellar door and events venue on the Bellarine Peninsula, and we’re looking for an experienced Pitmaster to join our BBQ team and help build something special.

This role is for someone who lives and breathes low & slow, understands fire management, flavour development and consistency — and who’s keen to help take Bellarine Estate into the competitive BBQ scene.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing smokers, fire, prep and cook schedules
  • Maintaining quality, consistency and flavour across cooks
  • Working with owners and head chef to develop BBQ concepts, specials and events
  • Helping establish and grow a competition BBQ team
  • Competing (or preparing to compete) in Australian Barbecue Alliance sanctioned cook-offs
  • Representing Bellarine Estate at competitions and BBQ events

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as a Pitmaster or BBQ lead
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Brisket
    • Pork ribs
    • Chicken
    • Fire and smoker management
  • Passion for competition-style BBQ
  • Someone who enjoys experimenting, refining and chasing better results
  • A team player who wants to help build something long-term
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment

Competition BBQ

We’re actively looking to:

  • Build a Bellarine Estate competition team
  • Enter ABA-sanctioned events
  • Develop competition-level recipes and processes
  • Grow a BBQ brand alongside the venue

If you’ve competed before — great.
If you haven’t but are serious about starting — even better.
